EDGE Insight CTS

Im looking at getting an EDGE Insight CTS for my 05, what parameters can it monitor? ECT, EOT, Boost? im mainly worried about ECT and EOT, i already have boost trans and egt gauges.

Secondly, any who owns one, are you happy with it, and how did you mount it?

I bought one last summer and really like it so far. I am just using the suction cup windshield mount on mine. I am using it to monitor ECT, EOT, EGT, trans temp, and voltage. I plan on adding the fuel pressure regulator once it is released. There are 15 or so other things that you can monitor (intake air temp, throttle position, etc, etc).

I added a backup camera (a generic camera, not the edge version) to mine as well to help when hooking up with trailers. Below is a picture when the camera on. You can see where and how it's mounted as well. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures with the gauges showing.

Lakewood, I was looking at the insight on ebay for 400. I think thats what I will get, did you find a better price anywhere? The mounting pod is 40.

Any particular reason you want with a camera other than the Edge one?
Looks good!

I dont like the look of the BIG edge camera head, myself i would preffer a small one, that i could hide in a tailgate handle cover like the 2010 truck.

In Arizona I don't think I could use the big edge unit ,, they started cracking down on any obstruction blocking the states name

I was thinking of a camera for the rear and front that would record as you drive. I was involved in an accident and video would have been nice to have for proof.

Check this post out to see how I mounted the camera up. It's a lisence plate mount, but I put it on the bumper. I think a mount in the tailgate would give a better view, but I didn't want to get that involved in the install.

As Zmann said, I went with a different camera because the Edge is crazy expensive.

Thanks! I didn't like the way the camera looked when mounted to the license plate, so I improvised. It blends in pretty nicely too from a distance.

This particular camera is the Boyo VTL422C.

If you want to mount it like I did, you have to take the camera mount apart and change the routing of the wires. It won't rotate enough if you don't (since it was design to mount on the license plate). Simple to do (two screws and 20 seconds), but it took me a while to figure out why I couldn't rotate the camera as much as I wanted.
