Expected Turbo life

My first Turbo was replaced at 53000 km. I just had my second turbo replaced this week at 102,000 km. However they also replaced #8 injector, the EGR Valve, EGR cooler (blocked with a couple of frost plugs), the head gaskets and installed ARP head studs. Also replaced STI fitting on HPOP and a cracked rear engine cover.

the Tech found the Unison ring had excessive wear and that is why the turbo was replaced.

This turbo should last longer that this. Did it get coked up and worn out from the bad injector...

Something tells me you had unnecessary repairs.

Unless your tuner overstressed something.

Think mine is on 2nd turbo (1st under warranty).... but it just took a good cleaning to get it to work like new.

My original turbo took a dump at 82k, new reman put on under warranty, that one just failed at 104k, another reman just got put on today, already has 190 miles, hopefully it will outlast both previous turbos

Mine was replaced at 57k under warranty

The Ford tech said that they fail more often when the trucks are not used as much.

Mine just hit 267,000, have it cleaned every 80k or so, costs about 400 bucks at the dealer to do.
