Why not pickup a head from an old Granada? (smaller engine, tighter chambers, more compression for free when put on top of a 300 short block)
Then you could work on the P&P at your leisure.
You REALLY need to lose that POS 2G alternator if you are running an electric fan.

130A Taurus alternators are cheap at the JY... find one that has been recently replaced and take a big chunk of harness with it.
Then all you have to buy is a pulley shim washer, a 175A Mega fuse and Bussmann holder. ($16, from RJM Injection Tech)

Whern I took everything off my motor the alt looked brand new or maybe newly rebiult. How can I tell if it 2g or something else? I plan on doing a double elec. fan set up when I put it back together. Truckmeblue.com has an awesome kit for cheap money
