***** sorry about caps I don't look up much and don't feel like retyping. not yelling at you lol
1978 would be a 1G alternator with a seperate regulator mounted somewhere like inside the fender. (still an external fan)
The 2G was the first internally regulated version, external fan...
3G eliminated the fire prone charging plug of the 2G, added a second fan (both internal) and upped the amperage to 95, or 130 for vehicles equipped with electric fans.
The 130A ( large case) version came in three mounting configurations.
Side mount for later models, 7" pivot, and 8.25" pivot for various applications.
I think the 3.0 v6 got the 7" and the 3.8 v6 got the 8.25.

Awesome info Jim Thank you.
I did read an article somewhere maybe that gofastforcheap web site about getting a 100A off some car I don't remember which now, do you have any idea?
TIA
David
Actually you are looking for Two holes (148mm diameter case), instead of Four (135mm) between the three pairs of ribs on the front.
4 holes= 95A, 2 holes=130A
Very cool Thanks alot JIM!!
Just printed the pics
I really hate how ignorant I about motors, but I am learning tons from you guys
Thanks to all!!
David
david- the muffler is tucked pretty well but the only time it can rattle is if something comes loose or an exhaust mount rips apart, there is probably 4" minimum clearance in the tightest spots. there isnt much wobble with the efi manifolds and walker y-pipe, it has a good hold on the front side and would probably hold everything solid all the way back even if he did lose a rubber mount.

Thanks for the info Aaron. Good to know as I am also planning to use efi manifold and walker y pipe
Thaanks!
David
Just a thought today.... Has anybody used the efi manifolds and just run dual exhausts back. I am assuming it would take some custom exhaust work, but the "cool factor" might make it worth it
TIA
David
