You are right Tom. My only problem with that is my teenagers are now in their thirties and forties. And the teenage grandson is too far away!
You'd think I would have figured out some type of scheme by now, huh?

i told the teen neighbor he could use the snowblower to make as much money as he wanted. the only hitch was that my driveway was clean when i get home.
3 years now, and still works like a charm.

I have an old Toyota 20R motor sitting around. That ought to make that snowblower into a real beast.

know what i hate????

chevy cavaliers and dip**** oil change places. didn't touch the truck today because i had a metric shyte ton of stuff to do to the dd, still have more to do tomorrow too, AARRGGGHHH!!!!!

generally i take my car to a shop for an oil change because i have no way to get rid of the oil when i do it myself. but my new truck came with literally 15-20 quarts of new oil in the bed, so i figure buy a filter and its damn near a free oil change. screw the hippies, i'll dump the used oil on some flowers down at the park or something jack the car up and get under it.........where the hell is the oil filter???? gm decided that half way up the back of the motor with the exhaust and a half shaft in the way was the best place to put the filter, idjets. so i go to undo the drain bolt, it is mangled so i hammer on a 1/2 socket. sumbich won't budge even with all of my weight on it. i had to use a g/d cheater pipe to break it loose. that bolt doesn't need to be anywhere near that tight and if i see the dude from the sears automotive shop that did it i'm gonna kick him in the nuts repeatedly.

put on some new exhaust, flushed the cooling system, new thermostat and then i find out that i have some fuel lines that just started rotting through. I <3 illinois road salt

Sounds like a rough day Dan..... Although that is not the worst place I have seen an oil filter, I think it was an old Saab 900 that my dad worked on that had the oil filter at the top of the engine and is was mounted horizontally, so there was no real good way to not get oil all over everything when you changed it. That same car had all the belts and pulleys at the "back" of the engine, they were at the firewall, fun to work on....

the 4.9 v8 fwd cadillacs of the 90's are like that with the filters iirc. had a friend bitching about it when he changed his oil.

I like the way they do the oil filter on the 6.0PSD. Right on the top in the middle and it is "upside down" sort of. More a cartridge type deal, but still super easy to get to. Fuel filter is right next to it as well, also super easy to get at/change. One of the fuel filters, anyway.

One of my best buds works at an import only auto shop, and I had the fun of watching him cuss up a storm while fighting to get an alternator or a water pump installed on one of those bass-ackwards Saab motors after hours.

Worse filter I had to pull was on a Subaru when I worked at Goodyear. Took about as long to find the stupid thing as it took to actually get it off, and plenty of red spots on the hands afterwords thanks to hot exhaust. Worst job I've ever had...

you know what i hate????

rain in winter time. i have so much stuff to do to vehicles right now and it's been raining all morning. the ground is still frozen and the water has no where to go so i have pools of water everywhere and my sump pump has been running non-stop. it sucks to have the motivation and time to do stuff when the weather doesn't cooperate
