Hi, i have a 03 f-250 and i just put a flowmaster super 40 muffler on my truck and it sounds stock. why? I just removed the stock muffler and replaced it with the flowmaster. I thought the super 40 was one of flowmasters louder mufflers? Should i replace it with something else? Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks
Thanks for the reply but doesnt glasspacks have a "crackle" sound? Im not looking for that sound I would like the deep rummble. I was thinking about putting the flowmaster super 10 or magnaflow bullet. Has anyone tryed these? If so let me know what you think.
I find it hard to believe that it is not louder than stock. Maybe it's just not as loud as you expected it to be?
I installed a Magnaflow single in/out in place of the stock muffler and although it's not considerably louder it has a nice tone to it. I had researched the Flowmaster 40 series through several peoples experience and had the impression the Flowmaster was louder than the Magnaflow. Just my .02 cents
my glasspack dosent crackle all i hear is a loud boom boom the reason why they crackle thin small pipes from what i have seen/hear but if you just cuting the muffler out and using the stock 3" pipe has a nice rumble
