Which muffler would sound the best (a nice low rumble, doesnt have to be super loud) on a 1999 V10.
I just bought the truck and want to add some mods to her.
i have a variety of clips on my web site! check them out!
the super 40 has less interior noise........don't count out the 50 series either, it produces a nice deep tone! check out the clips and maybe that will help with your decision!

If you havent bought the kit yet you can find cheap complete kits off ebay I think there single in dual out with flowmaster 40 for about 260 with 40 shipping hears a link if interested http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...QQcmdZViewItem
Ya i just read it, it cant be right i have never heard of a 5.4 or 6.8 without 3" dia exhaust, thats my bad, good catch though, typical ebay and typical me for not looking close enough. even went to flomaster web sit and ran the part number listed in the add and it had a 2.5 in and dual 2.5 out so it wasn't a typo.
So are you going with the single in dual out? or just a single muffler?
I'm going with the single 3" in and dual 2.5" out.
I just buy the muffler for 100 bux and i'll build my own dual sided ends anyways, a lot cheaper. I did the same thing with me previous gmc
ssshhhhh actually not right now. the exhaust stops at the dual exits of the muffler. i'm planning on moving the muffler toward the front of the truck about a foot or so, and put some exits in front of the passenger side tire with some stainless tips.
now that i might have alittle more free time, i think that is the new project in the works.
Thats actually what I was thinking about doing(passenger side in front of the tire). I have dual side exits out the back but Im going to be taking them off to do that. Anybody want to buy a dynomax welded ultraflow cat back system? I have my cherry bomb extreme muffer on in its place, it has a little more bark now. Im also getting my y pipe done at the local exhaust shop. I should sound even sweeter. I noticed on team mudds site that the v10 trucks that sound the best have headers and a y pipe so Im thought Id try the y pipe first and see what that does.

That Y-pipe will really wake up the low end exhaust note. Low end power increase is noticable as well.
Exiting in front of the rear tire will be a bit louder than an out the back exit.
Both my truck and my dads truck exhausts exit in front of the RR.
My dad just got a FM 50 series Big Block muffler on his truck to quiet it down some after he put on the Y-pipe. I have to admit it sounds very very good. I just may be putting one on my truck soon.
