You might want to look at the Derale Clay is carrying when the time comes as well, I put one in my truck this spring. its not very big, maybe the size of a legal piece of paper, but towing my 22 foot goose neck with 6 horses over MT passes, I haven't hit 155 yet, even in 85 - 90 degree temps. Everything you need is in the package, didn't have to make a single parts run for once.
thats the one I have, couldn't be happier. i didnt want to go huge on the cooler, as I may never get the tranny to a reasonable operating temp running empty in winter here, but wanted some extra for summer, perfect balance in my opinion. 35 degree mornings i run 130 or so empty, thats 45 miles over one "easy" pass going to work.

Nice, haven't checked Clay's site in a while, glad to see he's selling them. My truck is a DD so the temps are in check, its when I do my hot summer temps and towing a couple times a year I'll see 130-150 no load then towing up to 190-200 tops on steep inclines, would like to lower those temps considerably. Thanks brother..
Lowering the temps a few degrees won't make any difference. If you were consistently getting to 220°F or more then I'd recommend more cooling. With the temps you're seeing you will not see any benefit from running cooler.

I guess I was wrong in thinking I should be proactive instead of reactive, on this tranny cooling issue. That's what I took from my 6 months of reading these forums. Glad Mark chimed in, before I may have needlessly installed a supplemental tranny cooler. I wonder how many FTE members installed these and may not have needed it?
I know I sure appreciate having Mark on our forums, can't say it enough. I rep him any chance I get, nothing like having a trans expert and a really good dude to boot here..
