Hey guys and gals, just seen Dieselsites Tru-cool trans cooler went up in price, a buck and a half now. I really wanted one but things are tighter than a....well, you know.. Will this work, can't beat the price..Advance Auto Parts: Maxi-Kool® XL Transmission Oil Cooler by Imperial - Part 243012 Again thanks, if it will work I'm ordering my rotors too to get free shipping and 20% off also.
Wow Pop, its that small capacity wise?? The specs here had me sold (•Imperial Maxi-Cool® plate and fin transmission cooler
•Size: 3/4" x 11" x 11-5/8"
•Class "A" motor homes, large travel trailers, 5th-wheel trailers
•GVWR up to 30,000 lbs.; towing up to 10,000 lbs.) I tow a loaded TT, about 7500-7700 gross and I figured I'd be in good shape with this one. Is there any other on that page that would interest you for your truck??
They do have small ones Pop, I'll just check all of them out before I jump, thanks. Snowseeker, My preference is the aluminum and problebly be the best choice but this price is hard to beat. I'll do some more research, I got time, thanks. Anybody else have some recommendations or concerns??
I would get it Mike. Free shipping and 20% off. WOW..cool . You won't beat that price anywhere. Looks like you have to order the extra mounting kit and items to go along with that cooler. I think just the cooler is that price. But you may be able to fab up the mounting and hose arrangement yourself.
I seen napa had a cooler too, but i can not find my bookmark that i had to put up for you.
Big Poppa!! is this cooler a addon to the OEM? They have some pretty good prices on Fleabay for coolers! I bought a stacked plate cooler for my F250 that worked awesome.
I'd keep an eye on ebay for a 6.0 tranny cooler, you might find one for under $100, and that is way bigger than the one you're looking at.
I would urge my FTE brothers to be careful of these 6.0 coolers on ebay. There's a history of problems, and just recently a guy mentioned a guy who had 3 of them. I tracked them, and 1 was acceptable, but no glowing feedback and the other 2 were negative, (bad deals). Just a heads up. Just be sure you check out the feedback, real close.

That is an excellent reminder, since the cooler can collect alot of crap that could get pushed into your tranny.
I think I might hold off, only reason is snowseeker made a good point and somebody else made the remark its a steel coils and tubing, not alot of heat transfer if you ask me. Clay, I'll look around but why don't you see if you can get the Tru-cools or equivalent coolers in stock, they're popular around here..Smokie, that cooler is a add on to your stock trans cooler, stacking as they say. Appreciate the info and heads up..
