If i buy a 6.4 PSD, to do mods to it would I really have to remove the cab rather than just popping the hood? Say If i want to put in a turbo back straight pipe exhaust with a new turbo would i need to remove the cab from the chassis? If so Ill be skipping over the 6.4 and go with either a 6.0 or a 6.7 PSD.
talk is cheap.....i had a 6.0 for 4 years and had no problems what so ever, grant it I didnt' do any major mods other that straight pipe and air intake and I had no problems.....you shouldn't talk hypotheticaly until your ready to pull the trigger....its a waste of your time and ours!

The 6.0 has documented issues with headbolts. You were lucky or didn't notice issues. We had three 6.0's, one chipped - issues two that were not chipped and one of those had issues too. The third one that was not chipped did not have issues with headgaskets but it was an 06. If you look at what Ford did with headgasket design changes from 03 to 07, its obvious it is a problem spot for them on that motor.
No need to change turbos on the 6.4L until you get to really big power, and you can do a downpipe-back exhaust pretty easy. Not many gains from changing the downpipe.
