Do i really need to remove the cab?

If i buy a 6.4 PSD, to do mods to it would I really have to remove the cab rather than just popping the hood? Say If i want to put in a turbo back straight pipe exhaust with a new turbo would i need to remove the cab from the chassis? If so Ill be skipping over the 6.4 and go with either a 6.0 or a 6.7 PSD.

There are procedures to do cab on repairs, they just take a little longer.

If you went 6.0 then headstuds are the first thing.

6.4 you can skip that.

10-4, i figured id go for a 6.0 since i can get one in 2 months rather than waiting 6 months for a 6.7 PSD.

The 6.0 is going to get head studs no matter what. They'll come in handy if I decide to do twin-turbos.

The 6.0 has documented issues with headbolts. You were lucky or didn't notice issues. We had three 6.0's, one chipped - issues two that were not chipped and one of those had issues too. The third one that was not chipped did not have issues with headgaskets but it was an 06. If you look at what Ford did with headgasket design changes from 03 to 07, its obvious it is a problem spot for them on that motor.

No need to change turbos on the 6.4L until you get to really big power, and you can do a downpipe-back exhaust pretty easy. Not many gains from changing the downpipe.
