My 'new 1995 F250 XL...manual trans, manual windows, has no really viable place to put a cup holder.
Nothing I've seen so far will work. I really don't want to screw anything oddball onto the dash...no room to put a center console on the trans hump....cheap ones that hang on the door are hitting you in the elbow...or in the way of the window handle.
Near as I can tell....I'll either have to custom fabricate something to fit around the shifter...or fit up on the square place on top the dash....in the line of vision.
Is there anything available in the aftermarket arena that will fit a manual shift truck...and ain't tacky looking?
17Z , I have a '96 150 and too have noticed the lack of cup holders . I've looked high and low and haven't found anything yet anywhere . Anyone else have an answer ?
I don't know if there is a differnce in a year, but my 94 f250 has two cup holders on the back of the center arm rest when foldeed down. Seems too obvious so there must be adifference
I guess a guy could pitch the old bench seat...and go with a split back or some-such with a fold down center consol(hopefully with cup holders).
I seriously think I will build a walnut cup holder/console to straddle the shifter. With a cupholder on either side of the trans hump.....Really see no other neat way to add anything without being in the way of something on the dash or doors.
They did come with a 2 place cupholder, sits right in front of the middle front part of the bench seat. There are 2 large studs at the lower edge of the seat, almost to the floor. The cupholder fits over the 2 studs. Think there has been a couple threads on this before if you wanted to search for them.
My 93 5spd has one in it. Sits a little low and forward for me. I bought a center console that sits on the seat, has a couple cupholders and gives me somewhere to stick all my junk.
I've got one of those cup holders that go in the door. You should be able to get em from walmart in a 4 pack.
I've got a 4 pack of these floating around in the truck. They ain't any good.
If you hang it in the window channel...it hangs crooked, and is primed for an elbow hit. This style cup holder will hang decently from the plastic door panel up close to the dash.......but then it's blocking the window roller handle.
I guess I'm spoiled having an Eddie Bauer with the fold down center seat.... On my older trucks I used to get one of those plastic center consoles from the parts store or Wal-Mart and just sit it in the middle of the seat - has a spot for 2 cups, cigs, and (really?) cassete tapes haha. You'll have to mod sit by screwing a piece of heavy steel in the big square part of it for weight so it doesn't tip over on corners with a cup in it. Coffee in the seat sucks!!
If you look at the pics for my 91 F250, I made a center console out of scrap wood and those cheap $1.99 cup holders from Walmart. The picture isn't the best, but I can get more if needed. I wanted cup holders in mine, but didn't like anything on the dash in case I spilled it and I like the fold down armrest too much to put something in it. Floor console was better and cheaper. I also had to build it in a way that it would clear both the floor shift and the 4WD lever. Also, if you have rubber floor mats, stay away from those plastic consoles. One hard turn and things go sliding all over the place.
Sorry as Im LMAO off over here at this. Thought I was the only one with complained about such things. I have a old steel toe work boot on the center hump that I put my drink in when driving my 91 F250.
