My car/truck rule: NO OPEN CONTAINERS. You spill it, you clean it....my way. I don't let anything but resealable containers in, things like a 20oz pop bottle with a screw on cap. Other than that it doesn't go inside.
Found this thread, and forum, after an internet search for cup holders.
Does anyone know if the OEM cup holders shown will fit an 89? The picture with the tan looks a little tall for my truck. Also, I don't know if that will interfere with the manual trans. I did find an OEM single cup holder with small storage space that looks a little shorter and might fit. It doesn't include mounting bolts and a quick look in my truck didn't make me believe they are they already.
My wife does like to sit beside me so the bench ones don't work for us and with the 50/50 split I would have to move it to put the boy in the back.
Thanks for the info y'all! This looks like a great place to get my new truck just right.
If it fitted a 87-96 model, then it will fit yours, if any modification was made, you'll probably need the same modification.
That's part of the problem. The two that I found are listed as 92-96 but I thought it was the same part from 87-96.
As far as the bolts, I checked a buddy's 92 and he didn't have the bolts either so I'm not really sure where exactly it mounts or how it is to be installed.
The VW and Mercedes crowd have been installing these on the door cards for a few years now (cuz those silly yeropians don't drink and drive) A little flimsy and won't do 32oz Big Gulps, but very handy for Coke bottles and coffee cups. Get it in the right color and it looks near factory.
