I got mine at Home Depot. They have several different lengths. I got the 25 foot one for $9.99 plus tax, and that was the shortest one they had. Good luck.

Thanks Supercab but I can't take credit for the original idea. I found a description of this very modification years ago on FTE. I'm just the guy who has taken it out of obscurity and made it visible to the masses! Isn't FTE great?

As for the cowlick tag, if you saw a picture of me when I was 5 years old, it would be very clear... lol.

I had an incident with a deer this year. The body shop did a nice job, but the wind noise and rattles they couldn't get drive me nuts. I've been unhappy for months. I've got to try this.

I should have done this years ago. The rattling/clunking strikers have been one of my complaints on these Fords since I bought my first one... my Chevrolets didn't rattle and clunk... at least not the doors. The early seals are so easy to do, and the design is perfect for the mod. No rattles! No wind noise! Nothing to disturb me while I meditate to the turbo spooling!

I recently did my rear passenger door on the Excursion (haven't got around to the rest) and it seems like the mod has made the rear door stick out very slightly and not sit flush against the body. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a nuance on my Excursion?

Also, I've noticed that the seal with it's friction fitting likes to pop off the lip on the rear part of the door. When this happens, road noise is let in. With the door closed, I can push the seal back into place properly making the noise go away. It seems like this started after this mod but perhaps the seal is just bad.

Oh yeah, that was posted already wasn't it? For some reason the tubing in the video seemed smaller than what I used. Good to know it's the same size.
