This is a great ideal....there's a single channel seal on Super Cabs, on the upper part of the half door where it seals to the main door, I'm going to try this there and see if it helps the insane wind noise I get from cab flex.
I just got back from Home Depot. I picked up the electricians tool. They did not carry that kind of tubing. Where is a good place to buy the tubing, and what size tubing is it? Thanks

No problem. Don't forget to do the back doors on the Excursion as well. It will take more tubing but I was amazed on mine how much noise they also made. The mod quiets them right up.
I find it sad that vehicle companies like ford don't fix these kinds of problems with new vehicles. I am sure they know of the problem but yet nothing changes on the new trucks. Like chevy and their fuel pumps that have been problematic since 1993ish.
Import companies like toyota and honda have instant recalls on any problematic parts and take care of the problem but not ford, chevy, dodge.
i just ordered the tubing, went outside to look at my 04 ext cab 350 and i dont have little holes every foot? will the electrician tool be strong enough to push through the entire ext cab seal. everyone i see doing it has crew cabs which r alot shorter, can it still be done?
The fish tape is definitely rigid enough to get through the entire length of the seal. You won't have a problem with that part. I did hear once that a guy struggled pulling his tubing through because he used WD-40. Make sure you don't use that because it evaporates too quickly. I used a silicone spray which you can see worked fine.
I also think spraying through the holes helps but it sure isn't a big deal to try without it. If the tubing gets stuck going in, you can always pull it back out and work on getting some more lubrication in there. You could create two or three of your own vent holes and load in a bunch of silicone through them. Don't be shy with the spray, it make the job easier and is good for the rubber anyway.
