I have a 96 4banger with a 40 series flowmaster single in dual out. It sound great, little to no hint of rice. So what "I'm saying is if its mean sounding on mine it will be great on yours.
Actually I have a freind with a 99 4.0 4x4 with flowmaster it is a nice sound.I have heard of some people using a 80 series flowmaster but it is to mello and little good rumble sound.

I have a 1993 V-6 3.0L Ranger, and I was wondering whether to put a 40 Series Flowmaster or straight pipes on it. I DON'T want anything that sounds like a bumble bee. In your opinion which has a deeper sound and which would you get?

How is everyone? Haven't been here in awhile, but that is beside the point. I just had an exhaust shop remove my muffler, and cut back that restrictive stock pipe to just in front of the flange after the cat. Then they bent and welded up a section of 2.25" pipe,straight out the back. I like the way it sounds, and so does everyone I ask-so far. I think it sounds "truckier" than my Dad's F-150 w/ 4.2 and a flowmaster. Best parts: a mile or so more per gallon, better performance, no annoying cab resonance. The three resonators the factory placed upstream of the cat's keep it mellow, but when you rev it up, it still "gurgles" nicely. Very nice
