she's almost done!
The 4 toggle switches are 3-ways for controls. The 5 LED illuminated rockers are for lights, or other 2-way controls.
Toggles:
-Glow Plugs (on-off-MOM). On will be wired as auto mode like stock. Off will be off, in case the stock glow plugs crap out and stick on. MOMENTARY on will be my manual fire.
-High Idle: (on-off-on). On will be stock, off will be off, the other on will be manual on.
-Reverse: (on-off-on). On will be stock reverse lghts when shifted into reverse. Off is off. The other on will be manual on, for work lights. This switch will take care of some nice 110-watt off road lights for reverse, not the wimpy stock junk!
-Interior LED's: (on-off-on). On will be stock, lights come up when doors opened. Off is off. The other on will be manual on, so I can have them on while driving.
Rockers:
-Front driving lights: Front 110-watt off road lights on the grille guard that's going to be there someday when I find a nice un-bent bumper
-Underhood/Toolbox lights: 4 low profile bright LED's under the hood for late night repairs, or showing off the heart of this rig. Also will have LED's mounted in the underbody toolboxes, another someday item.
-Wig Wag Strobes: LED lamps on my box truck in a wig-wag pattern for my hazards.
-Undercarraige LED's: Blue LED lght strips on the frame rails, making a nice glow on the road beneath.
-Theft proof switch: Neutral starter switch wired in from the clutch pedal. Manual transmission vehicles require the clutch fully depressed to start the truck. Bypass the pedal switch, and run it into the rocker. When off, truck won't start. When on, truck will start. With the switch blending in with the others, it'll be hard to detect right away. Besides, my Grandma also got me a bunch of cool stickers for my windows that say "Warning: Alarmed Vehicle". There's no alarm on my truck!
And if anybody needs wiring diagrams for my switches, I can whip up some quick diagrams in Microsoft Paint and post 'em up.
I should also mention, the Blue LED strips are from my local Harbor Freight tool store, for either 5 or 10 bucks each. Can't remember.
Wire is free, it's all from the wiring harness of my first IDI which was stripped and scrapped last summer.
Rocker switches are from Radio Shack for $4 each.
Toggles were more expensive, $5-$6 each from my local Carquest. But, they are top of the line quality, Cole Hersee switches.
When I first got mine I was a little intimidated because it has a 16 pin plug....but you actually only need 4 of those for the mirror to function. 12V switched, ground, and the two wires that go to the temperature probe (which you can also get off ebay for around $20).
I wired the 12V switched off the fuse for the radio, as for the temperature probe I just ran the wires outside through the door (under the weatherstripping) and tucked the temp sender up under my truck's sunvisor. Beyond that it goes in like any other mirror.
The only drawbacks with it that I've found is that it's not quite as wide as the factory mirror (not really that noticeable), and with a sliding rear window if you put the mirror in the direct center of the windshield, the shadow from the middle window post will often be right over the mirror's "eye" when traffic is behind you and it won't always dim right, which can be a little annoying.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

So for my mods...
Fog lights in grill & block heater plug mounted in bumper. (left of license plate in pic)
Cold air intake made from dryer vent parts.
Gauges, Stereo & Blackberry mount.
New CB.
10 Pioneer sub with Kenwood 300w amp behind drivers seat.
New Toolbox.
BFG All Terrain Tires.

That is all I have pics of right now... done numerous other small mods such as new cb antenna, linear amp for cb, fishing pole racks, mirror extensions etc etc. It's a never ending project.

I ended up trading him a 400w alpine car amp that had been sitting on my shop shelf for years.
It took 3 dash plates from 2 parts trucks, and finally this is the end result. I think I'll run this one while I collect Air Conditioning parts to install A/C in this rig, and that would require the dashboard with the vents anyways...so this is temporary for a while.
I have future plans for an overhead console for my CB radio and for 5 more covered toggle switches, you know the race car type with the flip cover so you don't bump them on by accident. Those will be for my Air Compressor, Rear ARB Locker, Front Brake-Lok, Rear Brake-Lok, and Trailer Brake Hold. I'll constuct the box of aluminum and use pop rivets to fasten it together temporarily. Then I'll drop it off to my local welder who is able to weld aluminum, score!! He's the one who repaired my bellhousing, which the clutch pivot fork had broke off. The overhead console will extend to the drivers side, with a flat panel to mount more gauges in. Gauges include Overall Hourmeter, High Idle Hourmeter, Fuel Level, and Clock.
I also have plans for a small console on the floor, next to the shifter to contain some more gauges and control switches. Gauges include Air Pressure, Ammeter, Oil Temperature, and Axle Oil Temperature. Switches include Back-up Alarm on-off, Neautral Start on-off (theft proof switch), Box Truck Ceiling lights, and a blank hole for whatever pops up. Those partiular gauges are down there because the sendingmethods require tougher materials to bed up to the dash, so a quick run to a hole int he firewall directly behind the shifter will make for a clean install. (As a side note, I decided to switch the Theft-proof switch down to this console, and use a dash rocker switch for my roof forward facing lights. I plan to mount 2 on the box truck body to use as high-sitting floods for when I'm mowing late and need some more lights ABOVE EYE LEVEL. I can't tell how many times I've turned the truck around and used the headlights to see what I'm doing, but the headlights do more harm than good usually by blinding me! lol
I also have plans for a custom dash setup with my gauges, but the picture will explain that.
Here's a picture of what the heck I'm talking about.
Warozz, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bumper outlet for the block heater! I was planning something similar, but I was going to mount mine on the drivers side of the truck, mounted into the aluminum running boards. I also plan on running lead wires like the tow truck wreckers have, for quick plug-ins for jump starting cars without popping the hood. I'm loving that ram air too!!
