Just be aware if you have plugs that are visible to the public some punks like to jack with them ... I had my service truck nearly burnt to the ground because some punk stuffed a pipe into the jumper plug!
I now mount them behind the grill, invisible unless specifically looked for.
Bud, all I gotta say is once you actually start wiring all this up you will be cursing the day you made that post I have several toggles on my dash and some are dual-throw, and that's more than enough sometimes, what you're planning on there is just a nightmare as far as the amount of work you'll be putting into it. But all the more power to ya man, I personally prefer making things automatic so I don't have to deal with them... Out of curiosity, why do you need line-locks for the front and rear brakes? Same with the hourmeters, what's the real usefulness of those?
Oh yah, where can one get such a bumper-though socket for the block heater?
Sounds like blueovel is going for the top gun cockpit look. Tons of work in store for ya but it will look good.
Lcam I got mine at Cabelas in Reno for like $12 but you can find them online. Here is one site for same model I got, bit spendy though! Marinco Connect-Charge Battery Charger Inlet
also warozz did you cover it with any screen or leave it open. i ask because i've hit anything that walks, crawls, or flies across the road from the size of deer down and would be my luck i would suck a bird into it if left open.
I took the radiator bracket that was way overkill and just chopped it down into three pieces. Top with bolts left on, bottom with bolts left on, middle part in trash. So the radiator seems to have plenty of support, I can lay across it and it dont move... and I aint no small guy
I got some heavy duty screen with 3/8 squares that I have since mounted in front of the opening to keep big stuff out of the intake. I plan to wrap the outside of the pipe with exhaust wrap this weekend, that should stiffen it up a lot and keep engine heat from getting the tube hot and heating up the air. I will take some pics of it and the screen when done.
No on the fan blades... not really needed. I don't know if you can see in the pics but I did trim out a bunch of the plastic in the grill so that the intake get's direct flow.
The area in red is what I cut out, same on the two slots below it.
WOW DAVE! Holy S@#T man, you really must love that good ol ford to make her that pretty, that motor is the cleanest looking 6.9 i've ever seen! So what have you done to that thing dave?
Rick does your engine not move at all when you hit the throttle? If it does, and they all do to some extent (those with bad motor mounts more so than those with good motor mounts) and this can crack or even break your fiberglassed intake ducting
