Hey Everyone,
So ive been searching for this piece so i can get my emergency brake up and running but have searched high and low here on long island and have had no luck. Called multiple wrecking yards and even went to a few. Used a buddy that owns a shop and he had no luck either. Is there a wrecking yard that anyone would recommend that i could call and get that part sent to me. Im really in a bind with this tiny but really important piece.
I wish they made it or even sold it on lmc but thats the equalizer itself. I need the bracket that attaches to the frame then the equalizer attaches to that. Its always the small pieces that are so hard to find.
I have a ton of old Fords in my local JY, or I should have one on my many parts trucks. Send me a pic of what you need and I will go get one and mail it to you, should be cheap enough if its small.
I have mailed PS brackets before, so no problem. Just need to see exactly what you need, IM me the pic.

And the year and series is? Is it a Regular or Super Cab? Is it 2WD or 4WD?
You asked this question without listing one shred of evidence of what the heck you're working on.
There are multiple different parking brake systems used on these trucks, one part doesn't "fitz-all" of them.
The LMC diagram isn't worth diddly-doo, as it's only an example.
Where does this bracket mount, on the crossmember? Depending on the year/series, it was made as part of the crossmember, so if it's missing (prolly rusted away), you will have to make something.
On some others, it was available. And, on some others, there isn't one. My guess is...there isn't one, and you're confused on how the cables are routed.
its a 1979, regular cab, 4wd. I know how it is routed cause i went to the ford dealer and got a picture, this is the only part im missing in order to get them working. And yes, i think it does mount onto the crossmember.

Three questions.
1) If the dealer gave you a copy of the correct parts catalog illustration, it will have Section 26 page 3printed on the upper right hand corner.
2) If this is the correct illustration, what is the number shown for the bracket you're speaking of?
I'm using the catalog on Ford microfiche slides, so it's kinda hard to make out...what I can see is 2A605 parking brake lever.
3) Did the dealer give you the part number? If he did, I can search all the US FoMoCo dealers and obsolete parts vendors inventories, see if anyone has it.
Yes it is illustration section 26 and page 3. It looks as the 2A605 is the equalizer or at least that is what it is pointing to. In the top right hand corner there is an illustration that seems to point to the equalizer frame bracket and its number is 2631. Maybe i am wrong.. If this doesnt help i can scan it onto my computer and put a picture up here! Thanks for all your help!
That's the original bracket that came with the truck. This is what it looked like when I started work on the truck.
I was fortunate that everything was complete and in good, if somewhat cruddy, shape.
77 and 79 i would be super happy to do that! You dont know how much i would appreciate it. I think i got so caught up in all the convo's that i forgot to reply to you! How would i pay you? Or PM you.. Im not exactly sure how to do that! Thanks so much again!!!
