Read users instructions on IM (instant message) then contact me and we can discuss it, so not to clog up the 73-79 forum. If you want a new one I'm sure NumberDummy can locate one for you, he's good like that.
But I'll be more than happy to get one off my parts trucks I have around the back yard, can't promise its in any better shape than the used one in the second pic, but for the price you can clean it up and wala have rear emergency brakes.
Give me your mailing address thru IM and I will put it a box and mail it, that simple. When you receive the part and are happy with it, mail me a ck for the cost to mailing it.
Hell throw 5 bucks in an envelope and fire it my way.
I'm retired and have nothing really else to do but work on my trucks, besides what 5 bucks...almost a 6 pk depending on what you drink. lol
Long Island is to far for a road trip but you do have Craigslist there.....
Pretty sure I got him a used part on the way unless NumberDummy has found him 3 stashed away out in some Ford dealerships NOS box in timbuktu Kalamazoo. lol
Cause we all know he good like that!!
Thanks for the PDF pic so I can get him just what he needs.
Here's the illustration. It looks like basic pn 2631 is what he needs. Click on the .pdf link to open.
Thankyou kind Sir...for posting the pic, it's a hell of a lot easier to see than on microfiche.
The problem is, there is no 2631 bracket listed for the OP's truck.
The parking brake parts list for 1979 F150 R/C 4WD will be found in TEXT, section 23.2 - parts list 39B / No 2631 is listed.
Then I went thru every parking brake parts list (which includes all 1973/79: F100/500's, 2WD/4WD's & Econolines), the only 2631 I could find (D4TZ2631A) is listed in parts list 34A, which is for 1974/75 F100/150 2WD Super Cabs.
Will this work? I dunno.
btw: I have two microfiche catalogs, one dated 10/88 (final edition), one dated 1/79. I also looked in this catalog just to be sure, no 2631 is listed for the OP's application.

Actually Bill, I tried looking up the p/n too and couldn't find one either. I chalked that up to inexperience, now I don't feel so bad. It's kinda strange though because the pictures I posted of the brake system in my truck is a '73 f100 2WD long bed.

1978/79 Bronco's use a similar set up as the 1976/79 F150 R/C 4WD's.
Bronco parts are listed in the 1973/79 passenger car parts catalog, I have the hipoparts.com CD version.
There in no picture or parts catalog listing for 2631.
There is a bracket made as part of the crossmember the front cable routes thru. Then the threaded end of this cable fits into a hole in an oval bracket (2A602) the rear cables attach to.
On the backside of the 2A602, the front cable is secured by a nut. Turning that nut in/out is how the parking brake cables are adjusted.
Look at the upper left diagram of the parts catalog pic you posted...(F100/250 133" wheelbase)...there is no 2631 listed, and this diagram is similar to Bronco.
Maybe it's all my imagination and basic p/n 2631 doesn't really exist.
The only 2631 (D4TZ2631A) I could find is listed for 1974/75 F100/150 2WD Super Cabs.
The OP got the correct diagram from the dealer, but the dealer did not give him the Ford part number for the bracket...why?
Because, the dealer couldn't find a listing for the bracket, neither could you or I. IMO, there isn't one for his application...and that's what I said in post #6.
Well,
Bill and Mike, thanks for all your help with the search! 77&79f250 is going to help me out and send me one from one of his parts trucks! I appreciate all the help, you guys have truly been above and beyond when it comes to tips and finding parts!
Update to his issue, parts located # 2631 frame bracket and #2628 equalizer bracket (according to Mikeo0o0o0 PDF diagram) on a bump side 71? short bed 4x4.
Had no bed on it so it was real easy to find and get. Mounted with 1 bolt and one rivet, bought both parts for $2.oo and shipped to NY for $4.95.
Thanks again for the pics/pdf made it real easy to locate, regardless of correct #'s or not, I got him what he said he needed in the pictures.
Done, so now I have to go get a rear leaf spring, front R/H side hanger off a highboy.
