I think my wife and I want to go a different direction. No, not like that... My truck is still a great truck, and while it would be wicked to bomb around in a crew cab v10, my wife's car has higher mileage than mine, even though it's 3 years newer.
So the new plan is to hold out till about February when she goes back to work, trade in her Hyundai, and get ME a new truck that she'll drive full time.
And since there's no real need for an F350 all the time, (or an F150 for that matter) we checked out a Sport Trac Adrenalin today. Still a decent tow rating, (higher than mine,) better power, leather, ac, sunroof etc. We're waiting on my cousin to see if her plan beats the "employee + family pricing" thing going on at GM and Ford dealers.
At a different dealer, we looked at an 04 Navigator with 100k for about 20, and an 04 Expedition with 60k for about 18. And an 09 Yukon for 38. I easily talked her into it, so she would look at the Navi and the Expy. And quickly talked her out of it because of the fuel economy, so she would look closer at the Navi and the Expy.
So, it's pretty much down to an Explorer, and a Sport Trac. I'm hoping for the Adrenalin myself... But I get to keep my Ranger, and the baby gets a safe new car to ride around in, eventually. Win win.

According to the latest issue of Car & Drivel Magazine (new car issue), the Sport Trac has been cancelled, so your only choice for a new one is a 2010.
The Explorer, which the Sports Trac is based on, is all new for 2011, it's now a unit bodied crossover.
Just what Ford needs, another crossover. Guess they figure the Edge, Escape and Flex aren't enough.
btw, Edmunds and Consumer Reports both say the GM trucks, SUV's are overpriced by at least 20%.
Which means it's possible to buy a 38 grand truck for 28/30 grand.
Are you serious...?
I'd NEVER be able to get up this early, I could stay up late, But never rise this early.
So, What The Hell do you do...?
Got any donut's...?
Morning Bill, they are caving in to lighter, more versatile vehicle, they should bring the Excursion back with the new motors fuel economy improvements and keep the little stuff around just for the mileage improvement numbers!
