The only one I got is actually what I'm using for the jack to brace up the trans. But I might be able to get another one. I think the scrap pile is still at teh back of the apt. complex...
Rebuilding this thing better be easier than taking it out. Gotta get a sliver of glass outta my foot, then I can go downstairs...

I've got bad news for you...it's not.
That trans should be easy to take out...I really think there's something simple that you're missing like a bolt that's still attached. Is the bell housing still tight up against the engine block?

It sounds like you are missing some critical tools. Do you know what a transmission jack is? It's a lot safer than what you are doing with a floor jack and 2x4. You can rent everything you need. Inexpensive, particularly when compared to hospital bills.

I probobly am missing something simple. No, at this pint, i'ts resting on the cross member, and will be lifted off of it when I start trying to remove it. I figured it wouldn't be.
Critical tools? Yeah, I am. Ofcourse, I'd love to have a garage to go with all of them, too.

Sparky....start up a thread here in the chapter forum about your problem. You might get some more insight from people who don't necessarily follow this thread. It's worth a try anyway.

Yup, ya got it right Steve. It's a '72 F100 SC.
Btw, the trans is now sitting in the bed of the truck.
New problems to work out: bellhousing bolts. Those suckers are on there tight. sprayed some thread loosener in there, so I'll let that sit for a time, and work in and try again in a bit.
