This is my first post on this forum and can tell there is tons of good info available from the members. I have read a bunch of the threads and have already found out how much I don't know! But, on to my question. I bought a 1955 f 100 the body is pretty solid,it drives and stops pretty, but it has a 400 pontiac GTO motor in it . Well its coming out and I have a 302,c6 to drop in.Now my problem, whoever put that motor in cut out the crossmember that went under the original bellhousing tying the rear of the front springs together. Needless to say the frame is unstable now, WHAT do i do now. DOES ANYBODY HAVE A REPLACEMENT,OR HAS ANYONE EVER FABRICATED ONE?? I tried searching past threads but I'm just learning to use the forum> Thanks in advance for any help!
Where are you located? Welcome to the forum. I haven't seen any fabricated; go to a salvage yard and get one better yet get the entire frame. Mine was the same way after a few years it started to lean to ne side; I replaced the entire frame.
yeah, where are ya located? I need to replace the early pontiac 389 block I have for my f100 with a 400 block... would be interested in the engine, if your close!
I'm located in Scottsville,ky. That sounds like a great deal and just what I need. Hope its not a real bugger to change.I'm not really sure how to email or pm you because I'm not sure the right way to exchange info!
