1965 F100 Ranger

I am in Auburn. Shoot me a email if you like. yahoo and gmail. I was asked if it had the fuel tank curtain. Here is my reply I posted on allfordmustangs.
Yes it does. I just took pictures today. It even has the passenger side door zippered pocket but the driver side has been removed, just the chrome trim ring lying in there. Ranger on the side emblems. I got everything cleared away from it today and there are no dents and it has never been in a wreck. And the seats and console and carpet are black.

Rare option is a 65-66 Camper Special F250 with the Ranger Package!

Does anyone know of another? Even another F250 with the Ranger package in 65-66?

I also think special order paint and special order interior were pretty uncommon. Most of the special order paint trucks I have seen were built in San Jose.

I just gave it to you. I am always vintagehotdog. Hundreds of websites. So it is vintagehotdog@yahoo.com of vintagehotdog@gmail.com. This Ranger is going to my head. I am starting to wonder if it belongs not with me but at Barrett-Jacksons?

Definitely not. I got it started today and out of the garage. It is not in near as good a shape as I thought. A lot of surface rust on the passenger side I suppose something to do with the plywood that was leaning up against it. Cleaned out the bed and found the driver side door pocket. He must have been working on the lock because it is missing the clip and won't turn towards lock. The right front hit something. Fender slightly dented. Put a new tire on and found the rim is bent. I keep looking at the driver side fender in the light and it seems a small shade darker than the door and bed. And something happened to the chrome there on the cowl and hood. It rotted away. And something in the cab turned to white powder on the carpet. The black ***** all turned white but I haven't tried to clean them yet. But I still think I got a gem.

If I remember correctly, Ole Henry also bought up a bunch of land in South America to start a rubber tree plantation. Dont believe this venture panned out too well though.

Newer member with option questions for numberdummy

I have a 1963 F250 4x4 started to restore this truck some 20 yrs ago. I recall at the time that I had a magazine called Old Cars and Parts. Probably out of publication as I dont see it on the newstands anymore. Anyway I recall an article stating only about 899 units made with this option. If needed I can post a pic of the vin tag from the drivers door. Any help would be appreciated thank you in advance. Vic

'64 Ranger sales brochure

[QUOTE=NumberDummy;9155721]The so called Sports Package was announced, but never installed in any truck. There is nothing listed in the parts catalog, any sales or accessory brochures or shop manual inre to it.

So where is the picture from in the post just above your post? She says it is from a '64 sales brochure.

New to site. I am building a 1966 Ranger I have an original long bed truck that is my donor, it is too far gone to save. The bucket seat risers I have are both kinda the same they mount on the same flat surface in the 66. O.K. Here is where I am confused the picture above of the worn out bucket seats and console are not using seat brackets that are the same one seems to be using standard seat track as well as a riser. I am puzlled because this truck is pre 65,66 looking at the column and I have seen a 64 in a junk yard with the exact set up. What I am saying is Why are there differences in way these seats are mounted if only for 65,66 ranger packadge because they are deffinately different.

Welcome to FTE

You cannot go by the truck with the worn out seats, because it's a 1964. Rangers were introduced in 1965.

1965/66 Rangers used the same seats, seat tracks and upholstery (non GT) as 1965/66 Mustangs. The seat risers are 1965/66 Ranger only.

What bucket seats & etc that 1964 truck has is a matter of conjecture...is it factory or not?

Michelle claims this truck has the (so-called) Sports Package, but there is no Ford truck parts catalog reference for any Sport Package for 1964 or any other year.

There is no Ford truck parts catalog listings for bucket seats, seat tracks, upholstery, seat risers prior to 1965.

Since Michelle did not post the 1964's Warranty Plate...where the BODY & DSO codes are listed and would define what the truck really is...IMO, someone added the seats and other stuff from who knows what.

The cabs of these trucks are tight for anyone that is sasquatched sized (myself for example: 6-5, 300). People removed the bench seat, installed buckets seats which provided more leg room.

And since the seats sit lower, the steering wheel no longer rubs against the drivers stomach.

Thanks for the info. I just cant stop thinking about the truck I saw the seats were not in it but the tracks were there two standard mustang style seat tracks and two seat brakets that were risers. it also had the sheet metal covers you see in the photo. All this stuff was just laying around in the cab and since it did not look like what I had which I know is correct I passed it up. It is just weird to see these parts together in an interior like the photo.

That more leg room sounds good I am still working on my project and hope to finish it soon. I found out about the Ranger package in a funny way. I was looking for a factory automatic column for my 66 and a local junk yard had a 65 with one in it he sold me the whole truck for 100.00 it wasnt till years later that I noticed the faded word ranger in the fender scripts. The search for info was on and it has been tough tracking down parts since the one I baught had long ago been sripped accept for the fender scripts and gas tank cover mounting sheet metal pieces. It has been fun searching.
