I've heard that to set the base/ignition timing one has to disconnect the spout connector. This may sound dumb, but the spout connector is the wiring harness for the disty right? the whole thing?
On other cars, eagle/mazda's i know that a jumper wire is used, but the book only says "disconnect spout connector", for some reason this is eluding me.
The spout is a jumper plug. It is grey in color and is located either on the wiring harness right by the distributor (like my 89) or on the firewall. It can be tough to find sometimes. Hopefully someone will jump in here to tell you exactly on your application.
on my 95 w/ 302, the spout is taped to it's wire harness, on the driver side fender, up near the firewall. It is grey in color and is about the size of piece of dentyne gum.
