Question for the PHP guys, whats the difference between their 80HP daily driver and the 80HP Performence tune? HP output will be nearly the same with your foot to the wood. The shifting in the performance program will be slightly more agressive and the shifts will take place at slightly higher road speeds. The accelerator pedal will also have a slightly more aggressive feeling in the midrange with the 80P. Not sure if I get the 80 daily and 100 performence or just jump right to the 120 race. If someone wants the 100P program, I usually recommend the 65HP daily driver. There is a very minimal difference between the 80 and 100 HP programs so there's no sense in getting both. If you want the 80 DD calibration, go with the 120R instead of the 100P. Also since the TS only holds 6 tunes and the stock tune is normaly free do I only get charged for 5 tunes even though I would be filling the chip? You will be paying for 5 calibrations at that point.
I go by what I read here on the forums and I read some where some one said the PHP makes the injecters quieter and run smother then the DP. Now my brother has the DP and loves it and his truck sounds like mine with my superchip so its hard to compare, I just want to pick the right one for me. And its very hard to decide. People love what they have. And I think the decel tune would be better for my tranny then my manual switch.
My experience is what you describe in your first sentence. That said, I had a Superchips before DP and the DP was so much better that I wouldn't even compare them.
Do some searching. You can't go wrong with what you chose. Like they say on ALL the forums in Tuner and Big Oil threads. "pick your pony and ride it."
For the most part, you will get DP enthusiasts here. So I suggest venturing to other forums in your search.
Edit: TO ACTUALLY ANSWER YOUR ORIGINAL QUESTION: Yes I would recommend it and you won't be disappointed.
Cody, would it make a difference if there was an after market valve body installed and the tunes available with the FU package? Are those tunes set up for a valve body? Thanks.
No. They are not. You will very likely end up with harsh shifts. The way the "tune library" is set up, you actually share tunes with everyone else who has a similar PCM code. We can't change the FU tunes for one person.
Actually, I bet I could convince Bill to let me set up a different folder for those people who have valve body modifications and he could allow you access to that folder instead. It's not like it's a huge deal to "fix" the programs to work with an aftermarket valve body or shift enhancing devices.

Or you can do like I did, and buy the Minotaur and adjust it yourself.....
Of course the side effect is that I terrorize Cody and Bill with endless questions.
Speaking of..... tell Bill he has another email from me!
