I'd guess it was a cost savings measure via management over an engineer. They saved $0.009/door that way.

mine started doing the same thing last summer. it would go down fine but i had to help it up. i pulled the motor/gearbox out. the gear box is fine but the brushes on the motor are f**ked. there's a little plastic clippy thing holding the brush in place that broke. i kinda jerry rigged it and put it back together and it worked for another month or so then quit agian. anyone know where i can get just the motor or the brushes and the clippy thing?

try rockauto.com you can order them from there or get the part numbers from there and take them to an auto parts store and order one

Ok Guys,
My window does not make any noise, it just stops working.
The window was stuck UP and I took the door pannel off and while holding down the switch I tapped on the motor. -Stared working.

The window worked great for a few days and now it's stuck again.

Could the bushings be my problem?

I think your brushes might be sticking or the bearings are getting wore

After taking the motor out and learning that the bushings were like new I cleaned everything up and repacked with grease.

Stopped working on the third try-
Advanced had a new motor $60, I put it in and it's working well so far.

Most people have problems with the three small roller pins inside the gear drive. The pins disintegrate and then the window does not go up and down. That is where the six 1/4 inch nuts replace the pins and the window works again.

There is a lot fo good info in this thread about drilling access hoels and how to fix it cheap.
