Power window issue
The symptoms are the window will not go down but will go up. All other windows are fine.
I have replaced the switch with no difference.
I dont think it is the GEM as I am not having any other problems.
When I hit the motor with a hot lead the window goes up and down with no problem although the motor must be plugged in for it to work. Is this normal? I thought the window was grounded through the chassis.
When I connect the switch directly to the window motor and try to roll the window down, it moves slowly and trips the circuit breaker.
When the breaker resets the window goes up fine.
Bad motor maybe? Or a short to ground somewhere?
Just looking for a little guidance here. Any help would be great.
When I hotwire one side and ground the other on the window motor it works accordingly so the motor is good.
I did find a short to ground on the orange/white power lead so I looked a little deeper. After taking off the kick panel and pulling back the carpet I found a massive hole in the floor and serious salt damage at the harness junction.
When I pulled the harness apart the truck went haywire (key was off). The interior and exterior lights started flashing and the dashboard started buzzing. Everything stopped when I plugged the harness back in.
Now my window works again but the power locks are dead. Guess I know where the problem is.
My question now is how do I clean this? The terminals are so bad they are green.

So I need to get new plugs but the question is where?
All the junk yards I called said any Expys they have are all rotted in the same place.
Anybody know where I can get a set of plugs the can handle the load? Nothing worth getting on Ebay.
