Power window limit switch ??

Well the drivers side window lift motor is acting up. It will move up and down, but shows weakness when trying to close the window. When it comes to the top and just begins to hit the upper horizontal window felt seal or what ever it's called. It is the horizontal piece that the window slips into. Lately it will not seat up fully and will just start doing this thump, thump, thump sound with the window doing this slight jumjping action. If I try and help it, the window will fit tighter. Is the up limit switch built into the lift motor? I sure don't see a external limit switch any where. I need to know if the motor is on it's way out or is there actually a limit switch somewhere I can't see. Hope this makes sense to everyone since it's way past my bedtime

Thanks Ron, I knew it was here somewhere but couldn't find it. My windows are starting to slow down. I have that grease in my store, so I am good to go there.

Yeah this is a different problem. Actually it was Kwiks post that got me to do the lube thing on mine a few months ago. The drivers window still goes up and down very smoothly and quickly, but as soon as it hits the horizantal felt strip it studders, for lack of a better word. It will sit there and just thump until I let up on the switch. Not a big problem, but it's not sealing well and letting a bunch of wind noise in. If I hit the switch to go down, it works fast with no problem and up it still is quick and smooth. I guess I should have explained it better in my first post. has anyone had this studdering?? An idea just hit me to go out and try to stop the window with my hand and see if it duplicates the problem anywhere on the track. Does anyone know what shuts the motor off when it reaches it's limit top or bottom. Aahh not bottom, because it stops with no studdering, just the up limit shut off. I think that is where the trouble is..... Thanks for the responses.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that your window regulator is taking a dump on you. The cables inside may have run over eachother.

Hmmm I don't remember seeing any cables in there. Is there breakdown pictures of the window mechanism somewhere I wonder. I guess I didn't look close enough when I was in there replacing my first lift motor and greasing the regulator. Anyone???
