Undercarriage and body question

A few weeks ago I took my truck up a really rough, 25 miles dirt road. I am pretty careful and cautious on roads with lots of ruts, washboard and rocks. I keep my speeds in check and well within the confines of the road.

Since the, I have a horrible, really low tone creaking and groaning noise in the floor boards beneath the drivers feet. Sounds like two peices of metal rubbing against each other.

I have laid under the truck to see if there are loose parts, screws, anything and all looks good the eye.

Question: Would it have been possible to break some welds between two peices of sheetmetal in the floor? Does anybody know how the floor under the drivers seat is made? Is it two peices of metal on top of each other?

Just athought.

Can you make it create the sound by rocking the body? That might help isolate it.

The body mounts are noted as making all sorts of noise in the EX. The front ones are under the floorboards on Passenger and Driver side and accesible by lifting the carpet.

Mine had a "groan" that was correctled by lubrication and tightening of the Passenger side.
