Edge Evolution for 6.0 PSD
Edge Evolution for 6.0 PSD
I am thinking about purchasing the Edge Evolution for my 6.0 PSD. I tow a 30 foot TT and want it to monitor EGTs and sometimes use in Tow mode.
Anybody else ran an Edge Evolution? I had one for my F150 5.4 and really like it...especially the screen and data read out.

I use the Edge Juice on my 7.3L. Works great for a gauge, I think the 6.0L has some of the extra features too like 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times too.
I just leave mine on split screen EGT and Boost. had it showing backdown % for awhile, but it seems the only time it would show backdown the last place you want to be looking is down at the little screen.

You can use the Edge to monitor EGTs and other parameters, but since you have a 6.0 I have three letters for you: S-C-T; as in the SCT programmer. Since it's inception late 2005 early 2006, SCT has made the best power and fuel ecomony for the Powerstroke (7.3 or 6.0) while not compromising the integrity of your engine or trans.
I purchased mine March of 2006 and it's been the only programmer I've used for three long years and I love it. I've tried just about everything out there and SCT for myself and several other Powerstroke owners is the best. Look through some of the sigs and in the 6.0 forum and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I've run the Edge on my 6L since I got it and am pretty much pleased with it. I have had some technical issues but between me and Edge we got them worked out. I use it in Economy and Tow modes and I like the gauge displays. Since they are canned tunes, you probably won't get the performance you can get with the SCT and custom tunes. But you don't get the display with the SCT. It just depends on what you want and what you want to spend.
your best bet if you want the Evolution is to get the Gryphon From Power Hungry Performance - Available Products then you can get Bill's standard or Custom Tunes.. He uses the Edge hardware. read the about us page... Bill worked for Edge for several years and is still their PSD specialist doing contract work for them...

I have the SCT X-Cal 2, but they've since evolved to the X3 and the livewire. The livewire is more like the Edge Juice with Attitude as it monitors some parameters.
I have an Edge Juice Attitude thingy in a 6.0 X. Its never been past #2 towing and mostly stays on level 1 Mileage, which I think is actually there to give you Worse mileage. Having said that, the display is great! I regularly montor EGT, trans/engine temp and boost. Its truly amazing how poorly tuned the stock dash and trans temps are. I have seen my engine temp move 30 or more degrees while towing and the stupid dash gauge did't even move a smidge. It has a turbo timer, reads and clears codes etc. I wouldn't reccomend paying full price for one, but if you can pick one up for $300 - $400 and your not trying to drag race, I would say the monitoring and other features are well worth it.
