I'm hoping for some suggestions with my truck. I've read the threads regarding CPS replacement to cure skipping and stalling issues in the 7.3. My truck has been doing the same thing, skipping and powering out in the rain and when trailer brakes are plugged in stalls out alot when I hit the brakes.
When I read all the posts on cam sensors I thought, perfect, I can fix that in about 10 minutes..........no such luck.
I put a new cam sensor on a week ago, didn't cure the problem. Thought maybe I had gotten a dud sensor so put another one on last night and still have the same probem.
It was the grey one, got it from Napa. I'm trying to locate my nearest Ford dealership now to see if they have one and what colour. Hopefully that will cure the problem.
Did you check the VIN with a dealer? This was a recall issue and while I was getting the oil changed the guy told me my truck was recalled for the CPS sensor and fixed it. It would occasionally run like crap. Got it fixed and never had the problem again.

Yeah, it was a recall part, but the service department ingnored me and didn't return my call on it today so i just picked up another one. $30 and i just put it in so we'll see if that fixes my problem. it is a factory ford part however it is still grey. i'm going to move my trailer here within the hour so that should tell the tale. if this one craps out on me i'll go to international for one.
