I know that I am suposed to put this in the topic wheels and tires... But I know people have nice wheels on there trucks in here and want to know what Company makes good performing wheels and tires and that look good on my 77 F-100 shortbox? I want somthing that pleases the eyes, and looks intimidateing (spell check) I donot want off road tires!!!! I want street tires and wheels. I like the look of the 5 star American Raceing/ American eagle, I also need to know a good Size Rim 15 x ? And also a good size tire ( front and back) I want somthing wide in the back and not as wide in the front. Kinda DRAG like. ? Anyone help me?
this is one you are kinda on your own on. what one person thinks looks good, another would think looked like crap. find a good tire store and see3 if they have several styles mounted with tires. see if they will roll them out beside your truck so you can look at them that way. then just pick the one you like the looks of and go for it!
Ok well if you have the L W C Truck catalog there is a Blue 76 F-100 Stepside with nice wheels and tires. Thats what I like ( Drag Style) Just need to know what would look good on my truck, (posted this question so I can get everyones opinion)
I Run chrome mods and Wagon Wheels on my 78 F150 4x4, A saw blade type alm on my 79 bronco and 5stars on my 86 Flareside, 15x10 all around. When I first went looking for wheel/tires for my stepside I wanted the drag look to my truck, But The down side to that is on rotaing the tires, since front/rear will be 2 diffirent sizes You'll wear tires quicker. But the choice is your's
Racer,I just replied to your next question about gears,so I'm gonna assume you have a new build. Not that it matters, your rims and tires have to be something you like if not functional. And it matters if you dropped the front or rear as far as the series you go with.Spend ore money on rims unless you're gonna race it.Speed factor shouldn't be a problem so don't waste money on speed rated tires, and unless you have a problem with snow or mud forget that rating and then spend as much as you can on a good tire, suited to what you are gonna do with the truck.I put wide touring tires on my Taurus a long time ago and still have them, but they sure transmit the road and don't grip the snow and ice up here like I'd want,so i had to invest in good winter tires, which cost more then the all seasons, but I've pulled out a few stupid(4x4 = fast) with my Taurus, even received a $50.00 tip once.Talk to your tire dealer about what you are gonna do with the truck, look at the rims he can get and then negotiate,he wprobably won't budge on the rubber but he will on the services.John
Txquadhunter24: I can see the rims on the trailer better than I can on your truck! lol, Its hard to even make out what u have on there. and also step side trucks look alot different with different wheels and tires. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone had a pic of a 77 with some nice street rims and tires.
Torque1st: And about that (BLUE TRUCK) on the cover of that one mag. on the inside page in the corner it says the truck is an F-100, but the Emblem on the truck says F-150? Shows how well LWC writes there catalogs, and about the price for the carb in my other post I got it from that catalog. I dont think that I am going to be buying parts from them much longer. RIP OFF 380 oposed to 300.... I think I will pay 300.

Have you looked through the picture gallery and user galleries (links to the right)? Lots of trucks in there. Keep in mind that any 73-79 looks the same from the side, so check'em all out.
I have alyways liked the crager ss rims the best, had a set of wide ones with 31x11.50 on my old 76 f-100, looked real neat, it had skinney tires on the front, I also like the aluminum slot rims, but the 5 star rims are also neat looking. But I really like bigger in the back then up front.

Exactily! I love that look, and that is what I want. You recomend Crager SS rims, Alright, what size rims in front and rear, also what size tires? And remember I like Wider in the rear and Skinnyer in the front, buy not to skinny ( I want it to be able to handle a turn without squealing.
