I'm a Boss guy myself, I feel personally they have the best product and have taken the time to engineer in some excellent features. Depends on what is close to you.

Radio Thump !!!

Great Forum Guys. Don't do commerical plowing but I take care of the main subdivision road, my 300' of driveway (all on a hillside) and a couple of older friends driveways. Have had a Meyers, Western & 4 Sno-Ways, all on different vehicles. Currently just got a Sno-Way Mega plow w/ hydraulic Wings on my 2011 F-350 6.2L. The only complaint I've ever had with the Sno-Way is the short battery life of the remotes. The new Mega has a plug in remote for recharge, much better idea. Anyway, I get a radio 'Thump' now with every button push on the remote. The Dealer / Installer said they contacted Sno-Way and were told "Some radios thump & some don't, tell him not to listen to the radio if it bothers him." Not the type of response I would expect from a reputable company. Anyone out there have any similar issues with Sno-Way or any suggestions on removing the 'thump' ? Thanks

Wow - one heck of a response from sno-way. Go to plowsite.com and there is a section just for sno-way and one of the reps will respond to your question.

Last time I checked, SnoWay was not a sponsoring manufacturer of plowsite anymore.

Bought a brand new F-350, 6.2 gas Super Duty a month ago... The dealer said there was a $1000.00 rebate on a new Fisher 8' HD plow with the Minute Mount 2 quick mounting system... The $5000.00 plow cost me only $4000.00, I could not refuse... The only requirement for the rebate was that I owned a business... no, it did not have to be a plowing or landscaping business, He just needed a FEIN number, a Federal Tax Number associated with the business... I have seen other Ford dealers that want $6500. to $7000. for the same plow... Fisher plows are made in Maine...

With what you know now, If you had to by a plow for contractor use what brand and make would you buy now?. I like the pivot point on the western Uni-mount system for scrapping, but have heard while transporting the plow on bumpy roads the chain has been known to break. Also how do you transport the snow-way if the hydraulics fail?

Snowing nicely here now, I'll take some pics after the storm slows down later tonight or in the morning. That is if old blue can push 10-18".

depends what you are plowing, what dealers are close, how much snow you get, what kind of snow, and how handy you are. There are pros and cons to all the current brands. Some are better than others. Some cost more than others.

Don't get hung up on the whole chain lift thing. That is complete nonsense since a ratchet strap will lift the plow in the unlikely event you need to raise it.

Plows are a lot like trucks as there is sort of brand thing going on.......

I live on the west coast of canada we don't get a lot of snow, but when it does people scream to get the snow moved,So Im only going to be using the plow maybe 2 months out off the year for extra money. I have a 200 Hitachi excavator that I service and repair myself so Im familiar with hydraulic systems.

pbeering what plow do you run on your 99 F-350?
