Since we get a lot of new guys asking what's what, what would be 1 suggestion y'all would give to a new guy looking to start plowing?
LOL. Run the other direction and forget you ever thought of it!
Seriously, definitely drive for someone else first. Plowing isn't for everyone. Some people just can't handle sitting in a truck for hours on end going backwards and forwards all night long...
I'm getting a Boss Power-V installed in September. Here in Indiana, I don't think there would be much call for the larger XT flared version, but I am debating on the 8'-2" or 9'-2". I will only be plowing a couple small lots and a few drives but want it done fast...recommendations?

I thought the XT was bull too, until I found out how much it helps with the carrying capacity of a plow in scoop mode. In your situation, I would go with a 8' 2" plow, especially with the driveways, and get some wings to go with it. This way, you can be pushing a 10' plow, but get the 8' 2" convenience when you need it.

Width and wings...I just had aflashback to an embarassing conversation with the drugstore clerk when I was sent in to buy maxi pads for my ol' lady.
