starter wire??
i need a new starter wire? not sure of the name It goes from starter sylanoid to the starter, mine got broken and i am running it spliced it now tot he sylanoid. What is the name of this called. Truck is a 79 f250 351M 4 speed granny gear

Measure the length of your old one and ask for a starter cable, just be sure it has ring terminals on both ends for mounting on studs and not ring terminal on one end and battery terminal on the other.
Piece of advice, this is one area you want to go quality, don't go cheap. While you are under the hood now would be a good time to check/clean/replace the two battery cables also.

I second the welding shop... what will a puny 6 or 4 gauge wire cost? $6 or $8?
Some 1/0 and two copper lugs would run around $10 and be a huge improvement over the fishing line you would get at a parts store or Wal-Mart.
