I want to run a duel exhaust on my truck. Its a bone stock 5.0 efi. I wanna run duels like an f-350 with a 351 (dual taipipes coming out the same side). Now my question is which size tailpipes would be better for sound. Not to worried bout loosing/gaining mpgs im just lookin for the better sound. If yall can help me out with some suggestions please do
For a stock 302 I'd use 2.25". 2.5" is getting large for a neutered smog motor. if you just want to be a poser with a loud exhaust just keep what you have but throw a glass pack on there, you'll fit in with all the rice burners with fart pipes. The restriction is your log manifolds, not the factory exhaust.
On top of that the cats are going to be cut off seeing as they are starting to burn out. i can smell rotten eggs in the cab so its time for a manifold back exhaust job
I've been looking at this kit here, just gonna add a couple turbo mufflers, and an h-pipe I actually want to get rid of the noise. with dual tanks and 4WD, it's about my only proper option for duals. I'm running a 3" single with a 2 chamber now, was fine until I started towing a trailer, now it's down right annoying. I have run a system similar to this before on our old 77 390cid. Worked great, sounded even better. 2.25 is the largest you want to go.
