need tailpipe after flowmaster muffler

Just got my flowmaster 40 in the other night and i love it. Right now its just hangin there under the bed. I don't have any tailpipe right now. It's sounds pretty good. It's a 2.5"si/2.5"so. I was wondering what the best size tailpipe and tip would be to make it sound even better and louder and give it a good flow. Also does adding tailpipe quiet it or will it magnify the sound?.Thanks.

If you want it loud, just add turndowns. The more piping after the muffler, the quieter it gets. At least that's what I've seen. I have 2.5" pipes after my 40 series and it's got a rumble but it's not really loud at all until you rev it up or stomp on it. My friends camero has only about a foot of piping after the muffler compared to about 5 on mine and his is quite a bit louder than mine even with a less aggressive muffler.

you think it woould be loud if i had like a foot and a half of tailpipe and then a big tip. i could do this if i had it exit in front of the passenger's side tire because the muffler is a couple feet in front of the tire.
