Pull your driveshaft and take it to a driveline shop.
They'll get it done and balance it to if need be for a pretty reasonable cost.

That turns a $20ish repair into a $100+ repair depending on your location
The job can be done with basic tools and a little patience

....and to have someone who hasn't a clue start messing with U-joints can turn a $100 job into a thou or more, too.

We need to remember that not everyone who comes here asking for "how-to" is an experienced mechanic.

I've done drivelines and I have the tools for doing them.
I've learned over the years that specialists have a LOT more practice at what they do.
They also can cut off the yolk and weld on a new one if the holes are egged out from that u-joint battering away.
Any driveline work that I need done now goes to a local driveline shop.
Most times I can just wait for it and they come back to the counter with the shaft nicely rebuilt and I go bolt it back in.
Vanagon syncros were notorious for having the propellor shaft go out between the rear diff and the front diff.
The only way that I can get a smooth run with those is to go up to Drivelines NW and have them build me a new one.
But I digress.....

That is the reason I gave a link to the Spicer site where he could get an idea of what's entailed
I wasn't a mechanic either when I installed my first u-joint .At 12 yrs old I was just getting started.now I can build a shaft or repair it

I understand that, Ray, everybody needs to begin somewhere.

It's just that there are some posts here that ask questions up front that tell you that the person shouldn't be touching what they're about to get involved with, especially unassisted.

I suspect Kwik gave good advice, as something musta' caused his reaction. I got a similar feeling.

Sorta' like:
"My brakes don't work and someone told me they think it's my master cylinder. When I asked the guy at the parts house about rebuilding it, he told me I may need a brake cylinder hone to do the job. What is that, what does it cost, and where can I find one?"
