Retractable Running Board problem
I posted the repair pics on 9/21/10, today is 10/7/18
It has been a little over 8 years since I serviced these boards.I am having issues again. Time to do it all over again.
this time I think I will find a way to drill and tap a Zerk fitting in hinge so it can be greased.
I have a feeling this time I will need to replace the brushes.

You need to rotate the motor housing. It contains magnets and the polarity of the magnets in relation to the motor affect the direction of the motor. So, undo the 3 screws, rotate the housing (I had to rotate mine past the next set of holes and stop at the following holes), re-attach, and re-test.
No but if you can't find one you can make one, or go to a local machine shop and have them make one. It's looks rather simple.
Hinges
If you are sure it's just corrosion on the hinges, take it apart and take a grinder and wire wheel to it, paint it and put it back on, put some anti sling lubricant on the hinges, like chain lube. Theirs only 10 to 12 bolts don't remember for sure. No sense remembering it, because nothing the same ever breaks around here. Good luck.
