I have an f250 with a dome lights/cargo light that works when it wants to. It did it with the factory bulbs and i've since swapped it out for LED's with the same results. I can see the light flicker briefly like it's going to work but doesn't. Then sometimes if I leave the door open for awhile it will randomly come on. Other times it works normal and will continue to work normal until it decides it doesn't want to anymore. It's the same for both the doors and the dimmer switch. I've also noticed if I flick the dimmer switch on and off several times after 6 or so failed attempts it will then work. I can hear the relay clicking behind the cluster.

Also I don't know if it's related, but a couple times I had a blank AC display. No controls worked it was just dead and then I shut the truck off went into a store and it was working 15 mins later. The second time I read to flip the headlight switch in different positions. I tried that and it didn't work, so I frustratingly pushed either the Auto or off button a few times and then it came back on and has worked ever since.

 

search this forum for dome, light, wd40 and door. That might be your issue but I don't know if the AC display has been associated.

 

I dont think its the door switch. It shows which door is open on the dash when I open it, key chime, radio delay and all that still work. Also, it does it when I try to use the dash switch also.
