I have a 2001 f-150 4.6L and heres my problem. I changed the thermostat still overheating so i changed the water pump still no luck.i was wondering if anyone out there has this problem or has had this happen to them befor. If someone could shed some light on this for me it would be great or even know what the problem is would be way better.thanks for you time
exactly what happens. does it puke water out the cap ? does the temp just go too high on the gauge? does it happen when on the highway ? when AC is on? are you using water, then it gets hot, or ??
no water out the cap, the temp go's high on the gauge after the truck has been running for 10 mins or so thats when the temp gauge go's to the red.no ac on using antifreeze and still overheating.no white smoke out the tail pipe i'm puzzled
sounds like no water flow. either the radiator is plugged up, motor water jackets plugged up, or pump dont work very good. since you have a new pump, i think i would drain and flush real good and watch the flow out the drain. i put a garden hose TEE into the heater line so i can turn the hose on 20 GPM and let it shoot out the radiator tank cap or drain and see what is actually happening.
