hey guys....new guy here.....i dont a search on here and i cant find the thread that i found by google so i figured id ask real quick.
i have a 98 explorer limited 302......
just had the ac charged and checked for leaks and nothing found. thats the good news....
ive owned the truck for about a year and over the winter i dont have heat unless i hear this POP sound from inside the dash. and in wisconsin with no heat in the winter SUCKS....
and now that the ac is fixed when i hear the POP sound i loose cool air and get heat....
i know right behind the glove box is a door on a vacuum acuator and i have zip tied it open since when it closes i loose heat. but that isnt the issue. i still hear a POP and loose air...
is there another door somewhere that i need to find and fix? or what could be causing this? is this the "BLEND DOOR" i was reading about? if so where is it so i can replace it?
getting ready to go to mississippi for vacation and dont wana be fighting with the ac down in the south in the dead of summer...
well i went out to the truck and done some investigating and i guess the previous owner knew about the blend door issues.....the actuator is GONE.....so now i gota buy one of them as well. but my local oriellys has both the door and the actuator in stock and i can get both for around $45.
so now i guess next week end ill either be ripping the dash out or trying to cut the bottom out of the box.....
