2008 Blend door actuator
Hello, I have a 2008 f250 lariat with dual zone climate control. When the heat is on, i can hear a ticking sound coming from behind the glove box, I assume this is the blend door motor malfunctioning. The heat works well on both passenger and driver side but the a/c doesn't work on either side. It just blows warm air. Does this mean both of the blend doors are probably bad? Thank you!

Look at the compressor and see if the clutch is engaged and the compressor is spinning when turned on at the controls. Then go at the blend doors. Not up on the dual zone. I did a write up on the single manual HVAC system on my 08. If I remember I did hear slight clicking as well when it lost its mind. My procedure is in the tech folder here. We should get someone to do it for the dual zone too. Hope this helps.

I had the same thing on my '08. Cost me close to $800 to get it fixed. They have to remove the entire dash. I had them replace both doors and actuator motors while they were in there. I wouldn't say it's a common problem, but it does happen often enough if you dig back in the threads.

I read up on some of the previous forums but I couldn't find one with my exact circumstance. Most people who had a problem with the dual zone only had one side that wouldn't work properly. I will check the compressor tomorrow to see if it's kickin on, but I believe it is.
