How is everyone reading there EOT
As to how the access the OBDII port. AE uses either a serial port that has your PDAs adapter for the plug on the device or it uses bluetooth.
I would imagine that with the Touchs it would be either a mongoose adapter for the USB/Charger plug on the Touch or it would be bluetooth. I personally would choose bluetooth in this application. If it's available. I would imagine that for the DashDAQ it would be bluetooth. I doubt that the iTouch application will have programming capabilities like the DashDAQ-PC software so you shouldn't have to worry about bluetooth for that application, but for sensors it should be fine.
I will say this about bluetooth though, don't confuse this(like so many posters on here) that this is the same grade bluetooth that the aviation industry uses(or other big time industries use). Depending on how many sensors you are using and what sensors you are uses, it may report back slower to the device then a hardware connection(one of the reasons why I'm hesitant with the TSX, because it programs the vehicle's computer as well). One big thing that I really do agree with gearloose is, what the average consumer gets isn't really the creme de la creme when it comes to the same thing used in big business. Eventually we might get there to what they have today, but when that happens, they'll be using something much more sophisticated then that.
More then you wanted to know I'm sure.
