when running on flat road, temp is 105 to 115 ect and eot is about 3 to 10 deg higher. when running up the grade from Mojave at about 55 mph the ect will get to 118 and the fan will come on and reduce ect to about 115 and go off in the meantime the eot will get to about 138 and hang around that temp until I get to flatter terane.
the real question is,is this abnormal or do I need to look for an oil cooler?
What is the max temp for eot?
I have been reading the threads but it has left me with some questions.
Thanks for the help.

The max temperature difference between coolant and oil is 15 degrees (F) while driving at a steady speed on level ground.
I have to ask, are the temperatures you posted in Celsius or Fahrenheit? I can't imagine those are F, that's beyond way too low. But if they're C, then 105C is 221F and 115C is 239F and that's pretty dang hot.
Your thermostat should start to open and cool the engine at 87 to 91C (188-196F) and should be fully open at 104C (219F). I wouldn't want to see coolant go much above 106 or 107C.
those readings are from an EC and I had been driving for several hours. I will double check them again tomorrow as I will be going through Oregon on the way home, Ile check the temp readings, they may be in C but not sure. what is the max oil temp one should see?
Thanks ,Bob
I'm assuming that those are in Celsius. If so, and if they're accurate, you really, really need to have a look at that cooling system before something really bad happens. I would worry about that first, then worry about the oil.
It could be as simple as a stuck thermostat. Or as complicated as a water pump failure.
I left mid Oregon this am, the inlet air was at 33deg f. after running several hours the temps looked ok. all readings are in Fahrenheit. The water was 180 t0 208 and the EOT was 211 to 218 most of the time. The reading were mostly on the flat with some hills.
So from what I am hearing the temps are ok if pulling hard but should return to normal, is this correct or am I going to need some work.
Thanks for all the help.
