Well there has been a lot of speculation over the years as to how much this mod changes the injection timing. Most of the guys in the know are quite certain that with the long pulse width (more fuel) and the actually thinner oil than the PCM sees results in a timing change. Especially when run in conjunction with a programmer or chip the timing could way too much and cause damage.
I guess I have not heard of many problems with this mod but this is a very old mod that I am not sure until coon did have I heard of anybody doing it other than the how to's to do the mod.
i have had no issues (yet) lol and i dont beleive that i will, i am pretty confident that a tw or dp tuner will add more timing than what i am, cant gurantee that but since they produce so much more power they have to demand a little more of everything. i am very pleased with the mod on my truck so far, i dont want to comment on fuel economy yet cause i am astounded by the change in the first 2 tanks, i want to run some more through and see if the number reflect the same or not. as for power it is increased across the board in my truck, low rpm is a very little increase, mid-range is noticable but top end rpm is my biggest gains, smokes more and pulls much harder in high rpm and highway speeds.
i used a 4.7k in my truck(its what was layin around) tap into the green with red
