I just bought one for my 79 through Dennis Carpenter. Fit perfect but it has the grove for the narrow trim. Im sure their other rubbers are good also though.
I would think Dennis Carpenter would be the place for a gasket. I went a little cheaper on the gasket on my rear slider, but now I regret it. Want to make sure you only do it one time!
Dennis Carpenter, they are also not perfect. I ordered a seal at what I consider a premium price and it was 4" too tall for the windshield. I called them on the phone and they promptly told me It was impossible to make it oversize. I showed it to my installer and he said it was exactly 4" to tall. I called them back and told them I needed a new seal the correct size. They told me the person I needed to talk to was on vacation for a week and to call back. When the guy got back they would not exchange it unless I sent the bad one back and paid the UPS charges that were not refunded. A month later I had a new seal that fit. This is not good customer service for the prices they charge!!!
I would check and see if any OEM Ford parts suppliers have them.
I went with Dennis Carpenter for my rear rubber around an OEM Ford slider window. Maybe a little more, but the fit and finish was perfect! I have seen some others, but I wouldn't go with anybody else for the front and rear glass gaskets. Good luck!
Just recently I stopped into a local glass company to quote me on a winshield replacement for my '69 bumpside and to use a seal from a '79. I was shocked that the wanted over $400 for the whole job. About a $100 for the seal, $210 for the genuine ford glass and the rest in labor because I didn't want the original chrome trim damaged so I could sell it (it's in great shape) and they wouldn't install a piece of glass that was used when I asked them about a used one from a pull your part after this monsterous estimate.
