Duct Work for A/C on 1977 F-150

I am having the A/C fixed on my 1977 Ford F-150 and the mechanic I work with has run into a snag. Am looking for some help with locating a part or else a suggestion for a work around.

The duct work that runs from the center plenum to the driver's side is dry rotted and we need to replace this. One end is squared off and one end is round. It is a flexible piece.

We have looked high and low and can't locate this part...any suggestions would be very much appreciated. We are 85% good to go with the A/C repair and need this one part!

Thanks!

Sometimes you can find one on ebay, used in good condition. I took my damaged one and covered it with cloth, glued on with contact cement. It has worked for several years.

Over here (Australia) we cut the square end off, and re-use that end. Attach it with fibreglass or something similar to a length of convoluted plastic tubing the right size. Usually can get the flexi-tube from a hardware store. Pauly

I am 99% sure this is a factory A/C but will check with the mechanic who knows more than me. The truck is very original and not much has ever been done to it...I bought it used and the truck does not seem like anything has ever been touched.

The amount of dry rot we have found is nuts...I think this thing sat in a barn for about 10 years.

Can you call help me out with this parts? Thanks in advance!

The controls for factory air systems are fully integrated into heater controls. Dealer installed air conditioning has a separate control for the A/C. The ***** are actually in the vent...between the heater controls and glove box.

Which one sounds like yours??

This is factory air...the controls are within the main heating and air unit and there are no ***** to the left of the glove box.
My phone # is 504-444-7425 if you'd like to call to discuss this. I would like to buy this part ASAP so the A/C work can be completed before the hot weather gets here.
I will probably ask you to ship it directly to my mechanic in Harahan.
Thanks!

I have located the part!

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions.

Special thanks to Bo in Hattiesburg for calling me and trying to help.

Turns out, after numerous phone calls and according to partsvoice.com, this is the only one listed in the entire USA and it came from JST Automotive in Lebanon, TN.

This forum really helped me out. By the way, this guy (Jimmy) in Lebanon has tons and tons of parts but does not really know his way around a computer from our discussion so he probably won't end up on here any time soon.

Look him up...he might have what you need.

Thanks, again!

It's a long story but I am 99% sure I have the right part and went ahead and ordered it just because it's the only one out there! I had to call this place in Ohio and describe the part to them and they gave me a part #. I then went to a web site called partsvoice.com and entered the part # and the only one listed anywhere was this one in TN. When I talked to "Jimmy" in TN, he started describing it to me and it sounds exactly like what I need. I don't know the exact, correct name of the part but I have described this thing to so many people. There is a picture of one in the parts for sale section of this site. Some guy has a bunch parts for sale and it on it is in the factory A/C photo on the right side. The part # is D5TZ19B680A.
