I have a 77 F100 2wd 3 speed manual front disc brakes.
I hava 75 F100 2wd automatic parts truck with power front disc brakes.
I remember reading that Ford made 21 different brake pedals for these trucks. Last night I pulled the pedal out of the parts truck. Other than a slightly different bend for pedal placement, they appear the same.
What is the difference? Is there slight difference in the hole placement where the arm bolts to the master cyl? One is an auto and the other a manual. My truck stops just fine with manual brakes, but wondered what it would take to add the option.
If I add power brakes to my truck, I know the booster, master cyl, proportioning valve need replacing, but what about the pedal?
I haven't pulled the pedal out of my truck to directly compare yet.
Thanks,
Shane
That's kind of what I thought. Since I am going from an automatic pedal to a manual brake pedal, I assume there may be differences there as well. I did some searching and learned there were many different clutch pedals, brake pedals and brake boosters used in these trucks. I may try to sell the power brake setup and not worry about it. Was just thinking ahead as the pedals appeared to be similar. Thank,
