There is a stuck CD in the stock stereo of my 2006 F-150. It will playy and move from track to track, but when I try and take it out, I get a "Eject Error" message. Any suggestions on how to get it out with out destroying the deck?
I have this happen on my dvd/nav unit once in a while (it's an old Pioneer AVIC-N1). I attribute it to the harsh ride my truck provides, which jars the dvd/cd loose. When it gets stuck, I have to stick a knife INTO the cd drive and a slight angle (upward), then apply a small amount of pressure down, hit the eject button.
Again, this works for me and my situation, proceed at your own risk.
I tried both suggestions with no luck. For a little while, thhe head unit didn't think there was even a cd in there. Looks like it's time to replace it.

Aftermarket is much better anyway, using an I-pod, flash drive, or even a DVD instead of a CD holds alot more music...
Common with the CD-6 units as well. What I had to do was beat on the dash a bit, then try ejecting again while banging on the dash, usually it would work after a few tries. On those units, its the mechanism jamming, not the actual CD, beating the dash helps jar it past the jammed gear teeth.

I put the new head unit in last night. Everything went great, although I noticed that my airbag light is on, but I think I didn't get the connector put back in all the way. I'll check it tonight.
